Scenario Singles Outreach
Instead of focusing primarily on marriage and matchmaking (as most singles ministries do), Scenario Singles Outreach (Remnant’s singles ministry division) is dedicated to the well-being of single Christians from a spiritual perspective.
For example, in 1 Corinthians 7:32, Paul states, “He that is unmarried careth for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord.” Two verses later, Paul states, “she that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how she may be holy both in body and in spirit.” Another verse in 1 Corinthians 7 lets us knkow that they that are married "shall have trouble in the flesh" (paraphrased from 1 Corinthians 7:28).
THIS is the mindset that every single Christian should have—to focus more on making the most out of single life (instead of passionately seeking to be married). We refer to this empowerment-laden approach to single life as maximizing singleness™.
Scenario Singles Outreach periodically conducts services aimed at helping single Christians to do the following:
- Make the most out of single life
- Be productive, focused individuals
- Overcome the challenges of single parenthood
- Stand firm and unscathed by the pitfalls of life as a single college student
- Coping with the heartbreak and confusion stemming from divorce
- Dispel the attitudes and ignorance that lead to divorce
- Prepare for sober-minded entry into married life
- Walk as faithful widows or widowers
As you can see, singles ministry should be about more than marriage. In addition, singles ministry should not be a matchmaking service.
