Statement of Faith

To believe something is vain—if that which one believes is not completely supported and validated by God Almighty. Remnant Christian Assembly believes the word of God, accordingly, adhering to the following standard tenets of faith:

  1. We believe in and know that there is one God — the Creator and our Savior — who manifested Himself in the flesh to redeem us from our sins in the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 43:11; 1 John 4:14) and fulfills our perfection and resurrection unto life through the work of the indwelling Holy Ghost (John 16:7-14; 1 John 2:27).

  2. We believe and know that God came in the form of man, born into the world through a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:26-33) and lived among us.

  3. We believe and know that God relates to the creation on a consistent basis through the means of the Godhead — the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Matthew 6:9; Matthew 12:6-7; Psalm 2:12; John 5:21-27; Luke 12:12; John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Hebrews 3:7; 2 Peter 1:21).

  4. We believe and know that man was born in sin and shapen in iniquity (Psalm 51:5).

  5. We believe and know that, due to man's state, he is in need of a savior. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is that Savior of all men, especially them that believe (1 Timothy 4:10).

  6. We believe and know that the initial salvation process (i.e., being born again of water and Spirit) is preceded by hearing and believing the gospel of Jesus Christ and then repenting of one's sins, being water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

  7. We believe and know that those who have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost but have not yet been water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ are commanded to do so to complete the salvation process. Anyone neglecting to do so is forbidding water (Acts 10).

  8. We believe and know that without experiencing the salvation process through Jesus Christ, man is doomed to experience eternal hellfire (John 3:1-7; John 3:16-19; John 5:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:32; Philippians 3:9-11; Revelation 20:6).

  9. We believe and know that salvation can only be obtained through the knowledge and power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).

  10. We believe and know that through faith in the Lord Jesus that righteousness is imputed unto man and that sins are forgiven (Romans 5:8-19; Romans 10:9-10).

  11. We believe and know that every person that comes to Christ is called to discipleship and must be dedicated to that call (Matthew 11:27-29; John 8:31-32).

  12. We believe and know that every person that has been baptized into Christ (i.e., has received the baptism of the Holy Ghost) is a member of the body of Christ. Church membership is not biblical, nor is it required or relevant (Romans 12:4; 1 Corinthians 6:15; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 1 Corinthians 12:25-27; Ephesians 5:30).

  13. We believe and know that God calls for and is committed to the development and maturation of those that truly believe (2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 4:12-15; Colossians 1:10; 2 Thessalonians 1:3; 1 Peter 2:1-3).

  14. We believe and know that God has established leaders (apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastor/teachers) to serve the saints of God and to establish and maintain order among God's people (Ephesians 4:11-16).

  15. We believe and know that every person that names the name of Christ is called to depart from iniquity (Romans 6:12-13; 2 Timothy 2:19).

  16. We believe and know that Christians that sin, in order to be successfully restored, must not only seek forgiveness, but must also desire to be cleansed and to overcome that which they were overcome by (1 John 1:9; James 4:7-8; Proverbs 28:13).

  17. We believe and know that faith without works is dead. Therefore, claiming to believe without embracing the necessary actions to validate that belief is not faith at all (James 2:14-26; 1 John 3:8-10; 3 John 11).

  18. We believe and know that Jesus Christ is returning to gather His saints (i.e., rapturing us), taking us out of the earth, and that only those who either remained in Christ prior to their death or are found in Christ when He appears will go back with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).

  19. We believe and know that the rapture will take place before what's known as the tribulation period, but being that nobody knows when that is, all believers should lead a "rapture-ready" lifestyle at all times (Titus 2:11-15).

  20. We believe and know that we shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive the things done in our body and that, in preparation for this judgment, we must labor to be accepted of Him (2 Corinthians 5:9-10; Hebrews 4:1-11).

Remember, it's not about what someone believes—for faith can be vain. It is, however, about what God said.

Make sure you strive to believe, understand, and know what God said.
